Hi, one of very few posts for me.. Can anyone tell me what kind of adapter I need to buy to connect the two ends in the picture? This is from a fan in a 7970 video card. I bought a dual x fan but it's a vapor-x GPU so maybe that's why the two ends don't match up... although I don't know why the same brand would be proprietary to it's own brand

It looks like it is 4-pin to 4-pin and would be female to male (or male to female ) I tried just connecting the two ends but the pins on the male end are way to fat for the female (make your own jokes).

Thank you for any help.

Thanks for the picture. I see what you mean about the pins. I just spent some time on (only) one web site trying to find the appropriate adapter with no luck, so a couple suggestions:
Can you take the fan and video card (if necessary) to a local pc repair shop and see it they have anything. They might also be able to change one of the ends to a plug that works with the other part. You could also try going to Radio Shack and see if they have an adapter that you can actually look at and compare.
Or, give the card or fan manufacture a call (you say they are both by the same company?) and explain the situation; they may be willing to help out. I would actually call them, not email or chat; that usually works better.
Yes, very strange that...

Yes, very strange that the connections are different, but was the dual fan originally designed for your GPU? If not that would explain why the diff. connectors.
