Just a curious question. I was plugging in my psu to my motherboard and realized my 8 pin connector was too short to reach the 8 pin slot on my motherboard. My 4+4 pin could reach so I thought I would just use that. I just happened to notice that when you place the 4+4 next to the 8, they aren't identical. The bottom 2 pins of the 8 pin are square while on the 4+4 one corner has a square while the other corner has the rounded off pin. I was just curious as to why that is?

Well I think the 4+4 is for your cpu and the 8 pin is for you GPU. Look at the cables end. It should say CPU or PCI Express.

They both say CPU. I was just curious as to why the pins look different if they both fit the same place. I have a COUGAR CMX 1000 Bronze. The 4+4 comes out of the same line as the 8 pin.
