I recently just bought a new gigabyte RADEON R9 270 and i got it all installed correctly. i double checked and everything. The thing is that on my old graphics card it had a VGA Port but on the new one, it does not. So i tried my HDMI cable and at first was having issues with my monitor not displaying. So i bypassed this by plugging the VGA into the motherboard and the HDMI cable into the graphics card since the i dont get any display with only the HDMI in the GPU. I installed the drivers that came on the disc and then i attempted to play league of legends. I was only getting 30 FPS on the lowest settings. On my crappy Geforce GT 610, i was getting up to 50-60 fps. I made sure all connectors from my power supply were connected and the PCI-E was in its proper placed. The Graphics card fans will not spin. this might be the issue? and when i chedk my devices and the graphics card appears on the list.

I also tried manually using the buttons on my monitor to change the video input to HDMI but it just restarts the monitor and remains on VGA. Im so confused.

Someone told me that i may be bottlenecking but me and my friend have the same rig and is able to play BF4 with no problems. i dont understand. can someone help me please?

My computer specs:

CPU: Amd fx4300 quad core(3.80GHz)
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon r9 270
PSU: 680w
RAM: 4gb
and im using just a basic hanspree monitor.

Your monitor might just want you to change the source of your display output manually...change the source to HDMI try to search in your monitor's control panel
You only use one connection between a monitor and a PC. If you're running off the VGA connected to the board, then the reason you're getting such low framerates is that you are running integrated graphics.

If your monitor supports DVI try that (from the card), or get a DVI to VGA adapter.

I think its because you plugged your VGA cable into the motherboard, which enables integrated graphics on you CPU. I also recommend installing the latest drivers from the website instead of from the disk because those could be outdated. I'm not sure if I'm right about these answers with the limited info I have. Reply back if you have any questions.

Make sure you plug in a 6 pin pci express power cable to your graphics card. If its its an 8 pin, plug an 8 pin pci express power cable from your power supply. Then try and make sure that your graphics card is seated in the PCI express slot in your motherboard. If you are not sure if you seated your card right, remove it and line it up to the slot. push down with some pressure until you feel it seat into place.

Integrated graphics is basically a GPU built into your CPU. To enable your R9 270, you have to plug your display cable eg. VGA, DVI, , HDMI, or Display Port into you R9 270. Then go into your Motherboard BIOS and disable integrated graphics.

well like i already said, when i use the HDMI with my Graphics card, my monitor wont display anything.

Bottom line is that my Graphics card just will not Do anything. It just sits there like decoration or something but my computer recognizes it.
