Hey there, I just got myself a new CPU today. I replaced my AMD X2 370k with a new AMD X4 860k Black Edition. When I booted up the PC, it shows "5d" on the LED code. Before replacement, with the old CPU, it shows code "AA" but now its become "5d." I'm not sure whats happening. The fans are running fine, but nothing comes up on the monitor. No socket pins are bent by the way. The CPU is brand new. I'm thinking of returning it for another AMD cpu. Any recommendations? My max budget is around $120.

Here arw my specs:
-Asus A88x-Pro FM2+ mobo
- AMD Athlon X4 860k 3.7ghz
-Sapphire HD 7950 3gb
- G.skill Ripjaws 4gb x 2
- 500gb Hard Drive
- 600w Power Supply
- Windows 8.1

It would be much help if you could help me with this issue. I wish to play some games with my friends this weekend!

Solution
For the new cpu you need to update the BIOS to the 1301 version at least, here is cpu support list. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/A88XPRO/HelpDesk_CPU/
If you can use the old 370K boot the PC, update the BIOS and install the new one and the PC will run fine.
