To my knowledge Msi lightning is the most over and quality build card u can get. Now one important info about Asus and R9 series. Their CUII cooler is made for nvidia!Cuz they have lager processors while amd has smaller ones and cuz' of it the heat pipes does not cover the core properly! you can check the temps of R9 asus series and u'll notice they're alot higher then any other. Plus i've read from OC3D review that R9 290x Matrix is just overpriced. While i'm typing this i'm actually watching this review of a matrix 290x and the gpu temp was 91C which is just noobish from a company like Asus while msi's lightning is truly build like a tank and temps are around 70-72 under full load. Asus just puted their standard CUii on it and changed the desing and colour of the card and thats it. So 290x Lightning is a clear winner, not just against asus's matrix but against ANY 290x hands down. Hope my comment was helpful.
