Hey there, I'm planning to build a monster gaming rig. This is going to be my third rig so far and the last one I've made was about 5 years ago. I have about 1500-2000$ budget for now, but I don't know for sure, so i just want to calculate a price for now.

Since I've been outside of the gaming scene for so long I'm going to need quite a bit of help. So I need a beast graphics card,a blazing fast cpu,a strong reliable PSU,a motherboard that won't burn out, and the best RAM. I need to know what is the best for each of these, and which ones do you recommend me. Thank you.

Solution
If you want something portable then it should be something like this.

A good 2000$ build should be something like this.
Like you said
beast graphics card,a blazing fast cpu,a strong reliable PSU,a motherboard that won't burn out, and the best RAM
It has all of it.

That PSU is overkill but apart from that it's a solid build.

simply saying you need a "beast GPU", "blazing fast CPU" and "best RAM" isn't going to really help with recommendations.

what is your expected load like?
you said gaming, but what else will you be running on this rig?
do you stream your games?
do you edit replays to upload to youtube?
what kind of space do you have?
what are your ambient temps like?
what about your household power supply? is it stable? will you need an AVR/UPS?

if you want a generic, top-of-the-line build for 1.5-2.0k USD, here's one off the top of my head.

Nice builds there, but i should have clarified my question and alexandergc reminded me of it. I only intend to use it for gaming, and daily PC browsing. I also intend to use it with the oculus rift. My daily temps are enough to at least get some kind of cooler, and i don't stream games, i don't know if it's stable, but it probably is. I also need a case that can survive 3 airplane fights without breaking all the parts inside, because in a couple of months i'm going to be taking it with me overseas.

I'm ready to pay as much as needed for a GPU, and i want a CPU that won't bottleneck me, and I think ddr4 is a bit overkill for my general use. I don't think i need a 120GB ssd, and about 2TB should be enough. I have 1,5k-2k budget but that doesn't mean I'll spend it all on the best of the best.

In short, I want a PC that can run all the newest games at max settings without even breaking a sweat, and run them on the oculus rift too. And i want it to run the games to come at max settings too. I'm sorry I didn't clarify it at first, it was late and i didn't have time to thnk of it.Thanks.

Ok,Thanks for all the answers. I'm currently thinking whetever or not i should get a proc for ddr4 memory, but i don't see how much of an impact it would have. But other than that, I've decided on most parts. Except the graphics card. Which graphics card is the best? Because you've given me multiple variations of the GTX980. Thanks
