Hi...

So i was thinking it is time to finish the movie theater room and now i have some choices to make and some questions to ask.

When it comes to video performance and components i an not really sure what to choose. First of all i will be using a YAMAHA 3040 or 2040 receiver (HDMI 2.0) as first stage and for all surround channels except for front speakers.

The fronts will be driven by a NAD 218 THX power amplifier, and the speakers them selves are CANTON Vento 890.

The system will be a combination of a 4k UHD 65" (HDMI 2.0) TV and a Sony Sony VPL-HW50E (1080p / HDMI 1,4a) video projector.

The YAMAHA will be distributing the signals to the TV and PROJECTOR.

Questions is what source would i use for the picture and sound distribution to the system?

What do i need?
To get HDMI 2.0 i will be needing a GTX 970 or 980 at least.
But what else is needed if the video card will be able to deliver full performance?

The rest of the system has to have enough power, memory and effectiveness so it will not be the bottleneck of the entire setup.

We are probably looking at a INTEL system of course.
I have read some opinions about a Linux setup, but i am not familiar to Linux, but maybe worth a try. Probably ending up with windows...

Was thinking of:
CPU, INTEL i5 4690K 3,5 GHz
MB, ASUS Z97-A
RAM, G.Skull Ripjaws Z DDR3 PC 19200/2400M MHZ
CPU Cooler, Noctuna NH-U9B SE2
GPU, ASUS GeForce GTX 970 Strix DirectCU II OC HDMI 2.0
HD x 2, Crucial M550 SSD 2,5 256 GB" or Samsung 850 Pro SAeries MZ-7KE256 256 GB...

so far.... my thoughts ...

Kind Regards / Filip
