I had my computer for 4 years and replaced the mother board 6 months ago (because I accidentally spilt water on it). Everything was working fine. I don't usually turn off my computer but just let it sleep at night.
One day I was working with Solidworks and I figured it seems to be running slow, so I tried to restart it, but after restarting, it seems to be working even slower, and it just suddenly turned off. I turned it back on, worked for a while more and it shuts down again. I immediately ran a virus check on it and found out my computer was infected with several trojan viruses. (and it did turned off one more time during scanning)
I removed the viruses, and everything seems to turn back to normal for 2 days, then on today, it just suddenly shuts down again. Was able to turn it back on but shuts down in a minute again. Then it just completely stopped responding (no lights/sound/fan). I unplugged and plugged the power cable back, and waited for a while, then I tried again, the fans and lights were up for a split second, and almost immediately shuts down. Up untill now I was still not able to turn it back on.

Sorry, I misread... So no power at all. Is your psu is running but no lights/sound or cpu fan running?

If there's indication on motherboard, Unplug everything except the CPU/cpu fan, PSU, 1 stick of RAM, and the front panel power switch. Connect your monitor to your on-board video (if it has). Everything else can be disconnected. Try power it on..

You may check psu at least running with this method (Option 1 will do: http://www.wikihow.com/Check-a-Power-Supply)

I had an old gaming rig that one day suddenly shut itself down... I reached up and hit the power button, to turn it back on... Then my power supply lets out a loud **BANG!!** and my computer never did anything again...

It's hard to say given your description... You said your PC was "Running slow" but that could be caused by a million different things, both hardware and software.

However, if you can't even turn your box on at this point, I would start with the power supply. Tear it out, and hook up another PSU to your motherboard. Does it power up?

Be careful what you do with "Shady Power Supplies" as when they go boom, they tend to take other PC components with them.
