Just wondering if anyone could suggest a good QUIET cpu cooler, I'm not overclocking and I'm currently using a cm tx3 with 2 noctua 92mm fans in push pull on my standard 4770 cpu. Problem is when gaming the cpu fans get pretty loud the cpu temp gets up around 67-70. My asus strix gtx 980 is right under it and it sits on 70 under load.

Asus gtx 980

Would a clc water cooler be quieter I'm not oc so I can't see why it would need to work to hard

'Water coolers are usually noisier' ?!?!?!?!?

How the hell is a corsair H100i going to be noisier than a 90mm set of fans?

What determines fan noise is how much surface area there is for the heat to be irradiated off. In general water coolers aim to have a larger surface area (in rads) so the fans can spin slower, hence less noise.

If you can afford it, I would get a H100i with NF-F12's in pull config.

had a look at the d14 looks great but its huge! would i be able to fit my gfx card under it? H100i with nf-f12s is pretty expensive seems overkill given I'm not overclocking at all but if it'll mean silent then I'm up for it.
