The computer is a gateway lx6810-01.
It recently started having problems turning on.
It was working fine and suddenly one day when I pressed the button it would power up but there would be no beep or display signal. The fans and lights are running.
After messing around and restarting it like 20 times, it seems like if I unplug the power cord and hold the power button for some time then replug it and turn it on then force shut down it again then leave it for a while, then turn it on again, it seems to boot, and I can log it and use it normally ( playing games, web surfing etc. I'm currently using it to type this out)
What component might be causing the problem? I was thinking it might be the psu.
