I was overclocking my FX-6300, and Load Line Calibration Almost Did Me In

I was overclocking as the title states, and my LLC set the vcore to 1.54 or so, and I didn't notice for 30 seconds to a minute. It made my temps skyrocket to somewhere between 75 - 95c. Could there be any permanent damage to the CPU? These temps were sustained for 30-60 seconds.

Generally the system is shut down automatically when a certain temperature is reached. If your system didn't shut down and didn't smoke, I think the time was too short for actual significant damage. Maximum voltage is generally rated at 1.55v, so, I think you're going to be ok. Don't let it happen repeatedly though.

You'll have to wait and see whether it remain stable. I know 60-65 C seems to be the top of the line for those FX chips. If it were an i7 I'd say you'd be fine.

You're right though, thats too hot, just keep trucking along and see if you observe any instability. I definitely wouldn't stress it more by OCing it beyond factory.
