I just bough a new GTX 780 in replacement to my HD6850. Here are my specs:

Motherboard: asus m5a78l-m
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 780
CPU: FX-8150 (OCed to 4.3GHz)
PSU: Corsair CX750M
RAM: 8Gb (2*4gb)

I seem to only be getting around 10 fps increase in games like skyrim. I have everything maxed, and upon entering some graphically intensive areas like the entrance of solitude i dropped to around 30 fps.

Bioshock infinite also had issues, many people posted videos of them getting well above 100fps on the benchmark, but i drop as low as 40fps at some areas.

The unigine heaven benchmark wasn't too bad, but i can't remember the exact score at the moment.

An issue i have considered, is that I am running windows 10, does nvidia suck with this?
should i do a clean win 7 reinstall?

I still have my old AMD drivers installed, will this do anything?

Currently running driver version 344.48, but noticed upon installing the drivers, physX did not install. The driver was also not automatically found. I had to find this myself on the internet, otherwise the GeForce experience software had me on version 322 (or something like that) and said there were no available updates.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Edit: I also noted that GPUZ says the GPU is only using half of the GPUs VRAM and at half the speed. What's going on there?

Solution
Because the game is not requiring it to use more than that? I have the GTX 780 Ti and play my games at 6040x1200 res and i rarely see it use more than 2 gb... and max i've seen is 2.8gb, If you are using a 1080p monitor you are going to be very hard pressed to use up all the vram (maybe running all mods on skyrim).
Yea if i had to guess i would say your issue is your CPU not the GPU... The first generation FX (the other generations arn't much better) have pretty poor single thread performance ie poor gaming CPUs. Do what Zerk2012 suggested and let us know.
