HP computer running windows 7 pro. the wireless adapter is working apparently but it doesn't show available wireless networks

make sure the wireless is on all different ways.
1) in adapator settings you said enabled
2) there is generally a key or key combo on the keyboard that can turn off wireless via software
3) (dont think this applies to you) but wireless may be turned off on the intel wireless manager if you have it
