I want to replace the HDD in my Dell Inspiron N7010 with a SSD.
Does Dell use special, modified SSD's or should any standard SSD work?
(I assume it's a standard 2,5" SATA drive)

I planned a fresh install.
I haven't opened it yet, but the standard drive is a 3,5"?

Anyway, the reason I asked about the drive is because I had a Dell desktop years ago, and the RAM modules had different timing parameters and was way more expensive in the Dell version :-(

EDIT
yes it's 3.5", but is this a laptop? cause i search your model number and it seems it's a laptop. and if it is your not gonna need any adaptor...laptop have 2.5" same as an SSD.
there probably not gonna be a problem, but if you want to reap the full benefits of an SSD you'll need a SATA III.

It's a laptop so yeah, it's probably a 2,5".
And I'll get a SATA-III.

Thanks.
