Hi I have to buy a basic configuration laptop which will be used to do some programming on Eclipse, and somework on MATLAB or Visual Studio in near future. The configuration I have decided is - 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, A Intel Celeron Dual core 2957u processor, clocked at 1.4ghz and Intel HD graphics . Will this configuration work for me or I need to consider other better processors. I have also searched for two other processors with slightly higher prices-
First is a Intel CDC 3558u 1.7ghz, and second one is Intel i3 4005u 1.7ghz . please provide me some help regarding it as I have to buy the cheapest one which will meet my requirements. Thanks

A6 6310 and i3 4005U are equal as processors but the iGPU of A6 6310 has 128 shaders but HD Graphics 4400 mobile only 20 shaders i.e. A6 6310 will run games faster .

i have a laptop with i3 2350M 2.3MHz but it overheats due to bad laptop design . i just set max CPU state 85% and fixed the issue . i think either of the two processers will serve you well .

hi. based on ur links I googled a bit and am now confused between the AMD A6 6310 and the i3 4005. please suggest one of then which will be suitable for me. I compared the benchmarks of these two models but they are almost same even though the AMD one is quad core and has higher clock speed.Which one of the two will be faster ? I work 12+ hours daily and live in a tropical country ( one of coworkers told me that the AMD CPUs are meant for colder climates, rather than tropical ones :| )

both the processors have almost similar benchmark ratings but the Intel one is way ahead in case of single threaded tests. As I'll be mostly using my system for J2ee programming as well as for matlab and visual studio, which one out the two will give me faster performance? Also I will not be playing any games on it ever and will be using it only for office work and watching some 720p titles
