I tried to change the magnification from 150% to lower and it said I need to sign out to see the changes. So I click "Sign out now" and I get a blue screen saying "BAD_POOL_CALLER". So after it restarts, I can change magnification fine, but that is the third time I've gotten that error since I've had my computer (got it a few months ago). Can anyone help?

P.S. I've seen that for other people that the problem has been Hotspot Shield, but I don't have that on my computer.

looks like it may have freed up the same memory twice. get a driver update for
Debut Video Capture Software and reboot.

Note: problem could be caused by another driver corrupting that drivers memory but start with a driver update.

good catch, I did not notice the file in the driver list when I first looked.

Will do. If I have the problem again I'll post in here. Also, how can you tell what the problem was? I have tried to use Debugging Tools for Windows, but it's completely unintelligible to me.

be sure to run the rootkit detector. the file Image path: \??\C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\rikvm_99E320F5.sys
was listed as a rootkit

It would cause the same problem if it were hacking a drivers memory structures.

looks like the driver puts different numbers in the filename so you can not google it.
try and google "rikvm virus"

most the the listings have rikvm_(some number).sys
I guess it is malware but it could be a program that is protected by giving different users different file names.
(kind of a poor man's copy protection)

Microsoft site indicated it was a virus and pointed to this to remove it:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
you might try it.

I'll try it. But I also found here that it could be linked to Cyberlink Software.

What is the best antivirus? I have a friend who says Vipre is really good. My dad had Norton for a few years, but the customer service was bad so he got rid of it. What would you recommend?

Okay.
