Hi there,
I need a wifi extender for my house, which boosts the wifi signal.

The thing is, i need it to be able to not only extend the signal wirelessly, but also over a wired connection, and also mu dad is set on buying one that is wired to the router.

So basically, the router needs to provide a wired connection to the extender, which provides both a wireless range boost, and an ethernet connection. I'm not sure if something like this exists, but if you know of one please let me know.

Hopefully this (sort of) diagram will help if you dont understand. ------- is a wireless connection, and ________ or I is a wired one.

Router__________Extender___________Any wireless devices (laptops phones etc.

Computer

Thanks in advance!

Your diagram is messed up but if you want to connect a wire between the router and the second device this is better called a AP. It is the most stable form of "extender" you can get. Any router can act as a AP...look for how to use my router as a AP. You might be able to find a cheap AP but most AP cost more because they have special features like PoE. You will want to run them on different radio channels. You can use the same SSID or different ones there are advantages to both methods.
