ive been having trouble with converting my 4TB HDD to GPT, so i can use all 4, instead of only half of it...

i started it from DVD. i opened command prompt immediately. i typed "diskpart". then "list disk". then "select disk 0". then "detail disk". then "delete volume 1". then "delete volume 2". no more volumes left. now i retype "select disk 0". then "clean". then retype "select disk 0" again just to be safe. then "convert gpt". then "exit"...

and then i proceed with windows installation. i click on "custom" and it says i have 3900GB of free space... i proceed with the installation because i thought it was fine... 10 minutes later im back to the desktop and i click on "my computer" and it says "C:" drive only has 1.99TB. and "disk management" says there is 2TB unallocated that i cant do anything with...

i asked this in the storage forums, but didnt get any solutions

Yup definitely can boot from a 4TB disk. I assume that you are running 64 bit Windows 8. You have to select the bios options that label the drives as UEFI DVD, etc. You may be using the standard DVD so it will not use the UEFI and will not install to a disk over 2.2TB so take a look at that.
