I got a new pc and i plugged my monitor in to the VGA port and it said no signal. But i had an adapter from DVI to VGA and so i plugged the adapter into the GPU DVI port and then plugged in my monitor into the adapter and it works!. i want to know if i can fix it so i can use the VGA port up on the motherboard. Am i doomed?!

Solution
they should both provide the same signal to the screen.
whats the connector you used on the monitor, coz if you have separate dvi and vga input it might need you to manually select it in the monitors menu settings.

if you connected it to the same input on the monitor both times then its possible the vga out on the gpu may be damaged

i just have a standard DVI to VGA 15 pin converter. so the port from the gpu is fine but the main one from like the motherboard is the one that says no signal. Also my monitor is an AOC kind that only has a power button so i cant manually configure settings on the monitor

ah rite... lol... you wernt quite clear mate as some gpu's have both dvi outs and vga. i assumed both were on the gpu.
whats happing is your gpu is overriding the motherboard output. the onboard graphics have likely been disabled in bios so the onboard vga wont work.
if you turn on the vga(onboard gfx) in bios you will likely disable the gpu dvi output.
unless you have a specific setup that allows both to run.

but normally only 1 gfx output is selected as having the vga on with the dedicated gfx card could limit both in functionality.

You may be able to, depending on the system type. Your bios options will tell you if there is a chance. Leaving it on auto select will turn off your internal video on the MB when a card is detected. If you can just leave it on, you might have luck. Look for settings that reflect order for the IGP video, setting the IGP as the primary can cause some bios systems to leave the IGP enabled and allow sharing if the PCIE bus for multiple video support.

If your getting windows errors after these changes are made, try getting into safe mode, then removing the video card drivers and allowing windows to reload them. They should line up and fix themselves (IRQ.DMA PNP assignments)

Your manual was so unhelpful from the website, it only outlines how to install the mainboard so I am guessing at the menu's

Go into the bios, look for IGFX settings, then you should see the onboard VGA output setting, what are the choices?
