I recently switched from an H80i to an H100i expecting better temps, but had no luck. Now with my H100i I get temps of around 88c while using Prime95 blend test vs 70c with an H80i. I have 2 SP120's pushing (only push) air up out of my 750D. Even with the graphics card removed, I get the same crappy temps. I have removed and reappliced my thermal paste about 4 times now and never got any better temps. Does anybody have any ideas? I use arctic silver 5 and use the pea method. This is my first time posting here, so please don't kill me if I did something wrong.

So your cooler is working fine! i mean your already at 4.4ghz with that i7. Did you read the post i linked you to?

I had a similar issue when i removed my H60 to test if my AMD build is still good and then when i re-install the cooler i had higher temps than before on my 4690k. I think removing the CPU and installed it again fixed my issue.

If your gaming is at that temp the. You are pretty good. Your temps will also drop a bit once it's all set and worked in. My wife's build i did dropped from 30c at idle on her fx6300 to 22-23c idle after a few weeks of gaming on it and using it for her work. Those prime numbers still seem a little hot though. Did you remove the plastic cover sheet on the h100i cooler before seating it against your cpu? There was a user a few weeks ago here on toms that did that exact thing.

Yeah, the plastic cover that covers the thermal paste? I don't think you can even put the cpu on without removing it. Is there a plastic cover I'm missing? I removed 2 in total, one on the logo, one protecting the thermal paste.

Ok then you should be ok. Some coolers have a thin sheet of a clear rubbery clear type of protective barrier. Like I said there was a user just a few weeks ago that missed it on his cooler and it was causing high temps. I would also set the fans as a pull not a push so the radiator is easier to clean and make sure your pump is spinning up good. Kinda sounds like pump isn't spinning as it should. I would Google your cpu with same cooler and see what temps others are getting.
