This is my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/L4YY23

The motherboard and cpu aren't installed yet, I'm still using my old ones. I haven't installed them because my current cpu gets a little too hot with a stock cooler so I know this will be much hotter.

What's a good cooler for this cpu preferably under 50 dollars

or the zalman cnps10x optima that is cheaper then the hyper 212 evo and that people are forgetting about. in benchamrks it has a 1°C difference with the huper 212 evo.
I'm using the zalman, it's almost identical in design as the hyper 212.
and I have mine running with a dual fna setup. it will block the first RAM slot on your motherboard though(most probably) and thats where the hyper 212 evo comes in handy as it has 37mm clearance.
if you have low profile dimms, go for the zalman, if you have high profile dimms, get the hyper 212 evo unless the dimms are higher then 37mm

How about a good old fashioned Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Universal cooler. They sell for under $40 at Microcenter and are at this point a popular choice for cooling solutions for compute builds for both Intel and AMD alike.

Thank you! I have four 4GB sticks of ram so I definitely will be going with the 212

Actually most of the parts I have were a lot cheaper when I bought them. Like on sales and stuff. I think the pricing system on the part picker website could use a little improvement though.

I started buying parts for this build 3 years ago because I didn't want to spend an insane amount of money at one time. I limited my part buying to sales and discounts for the most part so the price was actually a lot lower for the real thing(and a few things like the psu and second half of ram were gifts). Also, spreading purchases out over multiple years makes the cost easier since I'm not getting everything at once. I definitely could've done better, but it was my first build and I got a little impatient so I ended up buying a few cheaper parts in the meantime to tide me over. I originally bought the 270x because I wanted to be able to run a few modern games at low-medium settings, but as most pc gamers, I got power hungry after a while and decided to crossfire lol that's also the reason behind the cpu/mobo upgrades. I asked a question on here a few weeks ago I believe and it chronicled my problems with crossfire and it ended up being my fault in the end (but it's better this way because my old cpu was weak and I don't want it throttling my gpus)

Sorry for the large block of text lol I didn't notice how long it was until I got to the end

You're right :/ Like I told the other fellow in one of the comments below, I spread my purchases out over a long period and I never really had a structure or a plan I was following which wasn't the smartest thing to do lol

But it's a great pc for somebody like me who doesn't need ultra settings on every game in 4k resolutions

Kingston doesn't sell the model of ram that I have anymore for whatever reason so I tried to find the closest model and they only had low profile sticks listed. It's kind of like the hard drives in a way too - the 2tb drive is listed at 300 dollars but I got mine for 100
