Hey folks that are a bit more computer savvy than me... I have a Samsung 840 EVO 500GB SSD drive in my computer. It's not my main windows drive, but it's a data drive I use for running games, keeping photos, etc.
I booted up today, got some message that my swapfile was created larger than allotted (it says it's 16 GB in size) and the SSD drive shows up as empty. The SMART stuff all checks out, Samsung's magician software says everything is ok, there is just nothing on it.
Any ideas?
Is the data recoverable?
Is the drive safe to use again?
It wants me to reformat the drive. It worked fine last night, booted up this evening and it's gone.
Win7 64-bit, 16 gb Ram, i5 processor, boot drive is mSATA drive, SSD is the data drive with most programs on it. It's less than a year old.
