Halfway into BIOS

I'm a new builder with a system I can't get running (or even into the BIOS menu). The system seems to get through a good POST and shows BIOS start up page. When I hit delete it brings me to the screen shown below, then after a 4-5 seconds the screen goes blank and eventually starts the cycle over. I've tried every configuration of memory install, both usb and PS1 keyboards, different monitors, and with both hard and optical drives disconnected. I'm out of troubleshooting ideas; any suggestions appreciated.

My configuration:
Gigabyte AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gbps USB 3.0 ATX DDR3 1600 (REV 1)
Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS (CX500)
Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB Kit (4GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL9 @1.5V UDIMM
EVGA GeForce GTX 660 SUPERCLOCKED 2048MB GDDR5 DVI HDMI DP Graphics Card
WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive: 3.5 Inch, 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache
Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive

Yes I followed those directions, they were helpful. As reedo_43 supposed, I just missed putting the CPU in the configuration list.
The CPU: AMD FX-6300 6 core.

reedo,

I'm always primed to assume I've made a mistake but in this case it was the hardware as you suggested; system is up and working 4.0 with a new motherboard. Thanks for saving me quite a bit of troubleshooting time.
