I have Edifier X100 speakers. The right speaker barely works. You have to adjust the audio jack at the back of the computer until you get the (right) speaker to precisely work. This has been a long time problem for me as well as my friend who own a different brand of edifier speaker.
It's very frustrating because only one speaker works and you have to adjust the audio jack at the back to make the (right) speaker work.
Why is this happening? Is it because of electric current? I tried a different audio jack beside the crappy edifier one and still the same problem. I checked all the wires and all are good. If there come a point where I'm fed up with this speaker I'll buy a new one. I'd stay away from Edifier brand from now on

Did you try switching speakers and if so do you use the min plug one the computer. The contacts on the computer jack might be dirty, try repeatedly pluging the male plug in & out in the jack a number of times. By doing this will self clean the contacts. You could with the computer off spray some contact cleaner on the plug an repeat mentioned process & while your at it do the same with the plugs that plug into the speaks. If that doesn't work try plugin the speakers into a different computer.
