Hi,
I recently bought a new video card, the Sapphire R9 290. When I installed the catalyst drivers for the card on Windows 7, I have a proper resolution for my extended desktop.
I then installed Windows 8.1 on a new SSD. The extended desktop is the proper 1920x1080 resolution on the extended desktop on my Samsung 46 inch un46fh6030. This is with the basic windows drivers.
However, when I install the catalyst drives on 8.1 the resolution on the TV is wrong. The settings say the resolution is 1920x1080 but it most certainly is not. When I mirror the desktop, the monitor matches the lower resolution of the TV as well.
The drivers had an error the first time I installed on windows 8.1 so I reinstalled after cleaning with DDU in safe mode. I installed the drivers without error but still the resolution is wrong on the TV.
Any ideas why this is broken?
Thanks!
