Every time I boot my system it comes to the "starting windows" screen and about 2 seconds after it blue screens. I have reseated everything in the system, booted from a test bench with just the mobo, hdd, and ram, tested every piece of hardware with my last mobo and everything works fine.

I am using all of the same hardware except motherboard (maximus vii hero), ram (vengeance 1600 (1x8gb), and processor (i5 4690k). the old hardware being used is the psu (thermaltake TR2-430), gpu (PNY geforce gtx 760), hdd (1tb western digital blue).

I have tried everything that I could think of and find for a solution. The only thing I cant do at the moment is put new thermal compound. I dont have any with me and I am waiting till i get an aftermarket cooler for my cpu. the stock compound spread well and has good coverage on the cpu, temperatures in the bios didnt go over 40 c.

I updated the bios to 1104 ( i think that was the number) it was the newest update on asus' website.

Any suggestions or insight on what might be causing this would be great!
