so im building a windows 98se machine for old games and my stock cpu cooler is like a hair dryer... i need a new one so i was wondering if am3/am2 coolers would work on my Socket A motherboard (asus A7V133) it has the same type of clip on both sides mechanism but im not sure if its the right size but it looks right so i was wondering if anyone either tried it or knows if it will work thanks!

Chances are that it probably won't work. Honestly, in this day and age, if I wanted a Win98 box I'd just virtualize it on my primary desktop, since that's a lot less painful than trying to scrape together compatible hardware that isn't likely to explode/fail catastrophically.
