I am trying to reinstall Windows XP on an Asus Eee PC. It doesn't have a CD drive, so I'm trying to use an SD card and an ISO copy of Windows XP, but I'm having a problem with booting from the SD. For some reason, it's not recognizing the SD card at start up and instead tries to run windows normally (which won't boot at all). If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it or let me know if you need more info. Thanks guys.

Ok, I've now tried using an 8gb PNY USB and I'm still not getting anywhere. So far I've tried using PE Builder, PowerISO and cmd, but it still doesn't seem to want to boot from USB. Any other thoughts?

Unfortunately, rufus isn't working either. I'm at my wits end. I've made sure the drive is marked active, Boot Boost and Quiet Boot are disabled, but it just won't boot. It's like it sees that the USB is there, but refuses to actually boot from it.

I guess this question has been solved already, but i just ran into the same problem.
The problem is not in the flashdrive. But the way eee pc's see the flashdrive.
You have to change the harddrive setting after pressing F2 instead of boot order.
This is because the drive is seen as a HDD.

Should work 100%
Hope it helps out people in the future :)

Kind regards,
Tim
