Title says it all

The CM is 280mm and is 30mm thick where was the corsair one is 240mm and is 38mm thick

Which is a better choice? Will they fit in a CM 690 II Advanced, PC PARTPICKER doesn't bring up any incompatibilities.

I have a FX 8350 and would like to OC to at least 4.6 Ghz, would the H100i be able to handle this?

Please help!

Yes it could handle it, depends what vcore you need to reach 4.6ghz.
I can not give any info how well the nepton cools, but I do have experience about the h105, its a great cooler, but not better then a corsair h100i.
for a few bucks more I would get a corsair h110, better cooling then both.

Much of this question hinges on your ability to overclock and the ability of your hardware to actually be stable at the speeds you wish to reach. Overclocking isn't simply something where you take someone else's settings and apply them to your system and it works exactly the same. Hardware such as specific bin of CPU, motherboard, RAM and power supply all play into how well your system remains stable as you increase voltage and clock speeds. Likewise, it also takes knowledge on what needs to be adjusted given different scenarios in overclocking. Very rarely is 'cooling' the limiting factor in your ability to overclock, but it is important to consider in order to keep your CPU cool when doing so, even if your overclock isn't the most effective (aka...over-volted for the speeds you are hitting, etc).

Yeah I know my OC depends on my luck in the "silicon lottery", I have a 1000 watt gold PSU so it should have ample headroom and I also have a 990FXA board. I just want to keep my CPU cool so it has a longer life span and doesn't thermal throttle
