Asus m5a97 R2.0 BUIOS not working properly

I have a asus m5a97. R2.0 fx-6300 and a Radeon r9 280. The PC is running fine but whenever I try to enter the bios it is a black screen that clears bit by bit as I move the screen however even when the screen is cleared some of the BIOS menu is off screen and some options are unreachable. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds like your monitor can't handle the BIOS screen resolution properly. Are you by chance using a TV through HDMI as a monitor? Do you have another monitor and/or style of port (VGA/DVI/HDMI/DP) you can try?

Hmmm that could be it. It only started when I changed my graphics card recently. I have a DVI to HDMI lead I could also try. It just seems very strange that it starts black but clears in a block style as I move my cursor around. Anywho I will try your idea and either way I will be back to let people know how it went.
