Hi,
What do you mean by check the ram? Was it not working to begin with?

That isn't a very good RAM configuration.

Your system takes DDR2 ram = DDR2-800 to be exact.
The GPU may be okay for older games.

If you are lagging during games, it is most likely your CPU or GPU causing the problem. RAM does come into play as well.

This isn't a preferred setup: (2x1gb, 1x2gb)

This is 3 sticks of RAM. You want to go with two as Kohwali and I have said.

Take a look here:

Your PSU is very weak @ 300w. I normally wouldn't recommend a Corsair CX model, but this is an inexpensive option:

Your CPU should be fine according to the Payday 2 recommended system requirements. The GPU falls short of the recommended specs.

If you go for the PSU and RAM upgrade, here is a decent GPU to work with it:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202050&cm_re=Sapphire_R9_270x-_-14-202-050-_-Product

These parts add up quickly, so if you have to choose an upgrade, go for the RAM and the PSU first.
