I have pre-ordered Assassins Creed Unity last week and the nightmare became true.
Now Ubisoft says i need to have Core i5 2500 ,6gb ram ,GTX 680 minimum. They better be calling 4k minimum.
I have Core i5 2400 3.1-3.4Ghz Turbo Boost ( I believe it meets cpu requirments )
8gb ddr3 1333Mhz (i have 4gb and getting 4gb more by the end of this week)
GTX 750 TI Oc to 1.3Ghz and 6.4Ghz Effective memory (Oc gives 8-10 fps in most of games like Metro Redux)

Now whats so confusing is that PS4 and Xbox one with weaker hardware are running at 900p/30fps. I believe PS4 has a modified HD7970m
Anyways untill now from Assasins Creed 4 till Watch Dogs.Dead Rising 3 to Ryse Son Of Rome. From Optimized Shadow OF Mordor to most unoptimized like The Evil Within , my never gave less fps on High preset 1080p 30fps even though ps4 was like 900p/30fps.
My Pc Watch Dogs :1080p High Preset FXAA : 40+fps
Dead Rising 3 1080p High preset :30Locked
Ryse Son Of Rome 1080p High 30fps locked.
AC4 1080p High FXAA 30fps.
BF4 1080p High 60fps No AA Motion Blur.
The Evil Within 1080p High 30fps locked.

WTF is wrong with Assasins Creed Unity?
Is it going to run 900p low on PS4?

Solution
You seem to like those framelocked console junk games.

Then yes cancel your PC preorder. Buy an Xbox or PS4 and preorder ACU for your new console.

Problem solved. No need to worry about specs for the next few years.

Hi,
Sounds like the same thing we heard with Shadow of Mordor. They wanted 6GB VRAM... Most people are running it just fine on 2GB.

I would keep the pre-order. Odds are you can set the resolution and detail levels in game to reach the desired FPS.

No you will still be able to run it, more than half the Preorders.. including me don't meet those specs but we still will be able to run it.

Phenom II X4 940 and a HD7870 was what I was told would run it when I called to complained.

Lucky for you that you have a 750Ti, while I have a 7770 HD radeon :( but still I can run the game (except for that crappy Dead Rising 3) with most settings on medium to high, I only have a 18.5" monitor so I don't need ultima settings for every game.

My games consist of:
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag = 32fps (High) (FXAA) (High Environment)
The Evil Within = 30fps (High) (FXAA - can't see the difference when I switched to SMAA or the other one)
NBA 2K15 = 30fps (Ultra - game dips for some reason even on low or even when you're just practicing alone)
Dead Rising 3 = 30fps (Low - any other setting beyond this crappy point would make the game crash on start up, it can still run if you try and try again, but the game runs fine and locked on 30fps without stuttering or problems)

I was actually shocked to find out that The Evil Within runs great on 30fps with my 7770 so I'm just waiting for AC Unity to come out and find out how that bad boy responds to it.

I'd say cancel your pre-order and wait for benchmarks to see how the game will run before buying it. Best case scenario is Ubisoft released some insanely inflated specs to make their game look like some kind of graphical powerhouse. Worst case, the game is one of the most badly optimized ports in history, and it will run abysmally regardless of what hardware you have.
