My maximum expandability of RAM is 8,192 MB, is there any use in having more than 8 GB for the sake of having more usable ram, considering 1GB of this is unavailable obviously.

Solution

If the max RAM your system can handle is 8GB, adding more will do one of two things:

1. Not work at all
or
2. Provide zero benefit.

Do you ever find yourself maxing out your currently installed RAM? Then yes, you have good reason to purchase more RAM.

I have 24GB in my gaming rig, I frequently use about half of this, I've had as much as about 18-19GB actively in use while streaming/gaming/watching other streams/keeping crap open that doesn't need to be open.

So yeah, there can be need for more than 8GB, it just depends on how you use your system.
