Hi There

I recently installed a second GPU and my case is now hotter than before.....for obvious reasons.

My system currently comprises:

i5 4670k 4.2GHz
MSI Z87 G45 gaming mobo
CM V8 GTS cpu cooler
2x4 gig 1600 ram vengeance
2 x MSI GTX 780 (SLI)
Seasonic M12II, 750w, 80 PLUS Bronze, Modular PSU
CM Storm Enforcer Case (mid tower)
128G Sandisk SSD
1 TB WD Caviar Black
Z5500

The case has two fans, one 200mm in the front and one 120mm extraction at the back. These came stock with the. See link below:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119240

Component temperatures under load are:
CPU = 55 - 65 degC
Top GPU = 70 -80 degC
Bottom GPU = 60 - 70DegC

I have space on the top of the case to install 2x120mm or 1X200mm to improve cooling.

Would appreciate your thoughts on what fans to go with and if it should be push or pull. I also have the option of removing the hard drive cage for improved air flow.

Regards
Chrisn

I have a V8 GTS on one of my air systems now and how much you want to cool depends on the amount of Db you are willing to deal with.

With my V8 system, if I crank all the fans up tp 75% of max it sounds like a small jet in room, if I go to 100% then it is very loud, like annoying loud, but everything stays really cool.

So for the best cooling for your case do this...

1) Get 4 http://www.frozencpu.com/products/8147/fan-500/Delta_Mega_Fast_120mm_x_38mm_Fan_-_252_CFM_-_Bare_Lead_PFB1212UHE-F00.html?tl=g36c435s1109. 2 in the front of your case to pull in and 2 at the top, you can leave your back 120 in place as with these 4 fans it will not make a damn difference. But if you wanted to change that to a delta as well...

Now invert your PSU as it will pull air from the base exterior and not the case.

Now be ready cause if you turn these fans up to max it is VERY LOUD, I mean VERY LOUD, but it will push the most air you can wish for.

2) Now the more practical approach...

Use 4 http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-JetFlo-120-Performance/dp/B00E20SSWQ/ref=sr_1_22?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1414177349&sr=1-22&keywords=120mm+fan in the same configuration as above, the cooling will be much quieter at 100%, but do not expect it to be silent. Still invert the PSU so it draws air form outside and keep the rear fan the same or change out as well.

3) Go the Noctua approac.

Go with 5 http://www.amazon.com/Bearing-NF-F12-iPPC-2000-PWM/dp/B00KFCR5BA/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1414177505&sr=1-6&keywords=120mm+fan these are the industrial fans from Noctua and cost a bit more, but they are black... they are the same as the http://www.amazon.com/Setting-Anti-Stall-Bearing-NF-S12A-FLX/dp/B00BEZKX8Y/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1414177505&sr=1-5&keywords=120mm+fan which are $13 cheaper just the standard Noctua tan/maroon

Hope that helps.

This model is rated at 30db how noisy is that really. Audible or negligible at full revs.

A sleak wisper at full RPM, not like the usual jet powering up.
