I bought my brothers Dell Inspiron 570 for $100 and I have around $230 left and I was going to upgrade the graphics card and ram (here are the compatible parts http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/category.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=19&s=dhs&category_id=7566&mfgpid=208430&tab=Parts&stype=2&~ck=anav&dt=List&sort=-ratingaverage) If you all could give me some suggestions, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help :) Sorry if I put this in the wrong category. I wan't sure where to put it.

Graphics and RAM for $230. Well within reason. If that is an old AMD dual core, can't spend too much on graphics anyway, the CPU would become an issue.

How much ram does it have now?

Probably won't come up, but what is the power supply look like in there?

Too many variants of the Inspiron 570 to say exactly what you have there.

I can tell you it has 6 GB of ram, the processor is the AMD Athlon II X2 250 at 3.00 GHz, and I ran the Dell System Detect and it said it is the late 2009 model of the 570 and if the manual is right on the dell website, it has a 300 W DC Power Supply.

You don't need more ram. Power supply is a little too small to be comfortable.

GTX750 or GTX750Ti might work. They are the fastest low-power cards available.

Athlon X2 250 is a little dated, and with an AM3 slot you have a few upgrade options. Phenom II X4 might fit in there, which would help a little in more recent games.

So the Phenom II X4 840 and the 750 would work?

Would go with these suggestions here, the gtx 750ti and a phenom II X4 would improve your computer greatly.

Have to be careful here. Really need the exact motherboard model (usually printed somewhere on it). An OEM computer with a 300W supply isn't likely to take the higher wattage chips. One of the low-power Athlon X4 maybe, not sure on the Phenom. Depends on if it is a 65W, 95W, or 125W board.

I opened up my case and one of the only numbers I saw on the board was MA785R M/8. I'm assuming this is the model. I hope this helps. I can't figure out how to upload the picture to here but the number is right under the CPU cooling fan.
