First off my PC knowledge is rather limited, will post specific specs if needed, and any help or even links to answers will be greatly appreciated.
I searched around for an answer but never found a definitive "This is what the issue is and here's how you fix it" so I decided to make my own post.

So my X51 R2 that I've had for little over a year crashes whenever I try to play games on it, (not the greatest feature for a gaming pc to have if you ask me) for months it has been a once/twice a day occurrence.
There are multiple ways it crashes but it usually just freezes, then a second or two later the sound cuts out and then the screen goes blank, occasionally the pc will attempt to restart but the screen will stay blank, if it doesn't try and restart itself it will just stay turned on with a black screen until I manually turn it off, when this occurs and I try to turn it back on it will usually just play the sounds and lighting effects, as if it just started normally but the screen stayed black, I then have to repeatedly restart it.
My video drivers also occasionally crash (the screen goes blank, some sounds continue playing) but then it comes back moments later with the notification (some variation of) "nvidia windows kernel mode driver, version ***.** stopped working"

I initially thought it was the GPU overheating, I then suspected it to be my video drivers because of the notification, after using MSi Afterburner and updating my display drivers/using older versions, I found that these were probably not the cause.
I then read something about updating my BIOS version, I did so and still no change.
Finally I read "it might be the psu" (yes I know, what an amazingly descriptive answer, I'm sure it solved world hunger and many many diseases) so after reading around I read that the X51s PSU, which is a 330w, was apparently pretty weak which can cause issues.

What I want to know is, is the power supply the issue here or is it something else, and will upgrading it change anything?

Finally (only if upgrading will fix the problem of course), I read that it's possible to upgrade to a 600w external power brick but you would need some extra things other than just a new one, what exactly do I need, and any recommendations for what specific model I should go with would be great.

yea well, you see, you ask us to pronounce on the PSU relative to the components (specs) that you will "post later if needed.:

For now, all I can ask is when last did you open that sucker abd blow the dust out of it with compressed (canned) air that you can buy at Target or Walmart?
