Please help me figure out what I did to my PCI slot.

Okay so last week I built my very first PC. The temperatures were running slightly high, so the other day I decided to install a new heat sink.

While I was booting up my PC I stupidly moved the DVI plugs and the graphics card was not screwed into the case properly. The monitor that was booting up went a weird color and the other monitor cut the display. I turned the computer off and back on. Since that point I have been completely unable to get windows to recognize the GPUs in that PCI slot (I tried several). It just keeps using the motherboard's integrated graphics. The GPUs turn on (fans and all) and they accept the DVI cables.

I assumed I shorted the PCI slot, but when I load the bios and look at the board map, it shows an Nvidia device in that PCI slot!

The GPUs work in my other PCI slots but it is a brand new motherboard and I would like to have it fully functional with nothing to worry about later on.

What have I done? Is it fixable?

The board is an MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 motherboard Z97-G55 SLI. Any help is greatly appreciated.
