Hello everyone,

I apologize if I'm not in the correct section for this post. If so, please let me know and I'll happily replace this elsewhere.

I purchased an Alienware computer (way before my knowledge of custom building); this computer has done a lot for me and continues to run games at a decent frame rate. With that said, I'm trying to get the most out of this computer before considering building a new one. Before I get into the issue more I'll go ahead and give you all a quick history of the computer in case this helps with the diagnosis.

About a year ago my computer shut off whilst in game, it wouldn't turn on and no power was being received. I eventually figured out that the internal power supply failed. Being on a budget I went for the quickest fix; I went out and bought an external power supply at Best Buy for my computer. After this fix the computer functioned perfectly normal again except very minor issues:

My internet time (date & time of the computer) wouldn't stay synced after about an hour. No matter what I did, I couldn't fix the issue. My internet would also go out about every 50-60 minutes, the only way to then fix it would to re-enable my internet adapter under the Network & Sharing Settings.

I spoke with a few guys on here who helped come to the conclusion that the CMOS battery might need replacing.

After about 8 months I finally got the motivation to replace the CMOS battery. Took my old one to Radioshack, got the same battery and reset it. When I started the computer I got this error:

"internal hard disk drive not found
to resolve this issue, try to reseat the drive.
No bootable devices
Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 enter Setup Menu, F5 enter PSA"

After hitting F1 the same message repeatedly comes up.
After hitting F2 I messed around with the BIOS settings a little bit (setting everything to default settings and making sure the first BOOT priority was the hard drisk) none of which worked).
After hitting F5 and entering the PSA evaluation everything came up normal (even the hard drive).

Is there something I'm missing in the BIOS, as far as settings go? Or is this a hardware issue that will need replacing.

Hopefully we can figure out what this issue is, I look forward to your replies. Thank you.
