Hello!

I've built a new desktop computer and i have had an issue since building it. The computer seems to shut down as soon as i press the power button to turn it on, when i have managed to keep it on longer than 5 seconds i can usually get into the BIOS to see the CPU temp which continuously climbs up. I thought it could have been thermal paste but i bought some Arctic Silver 5 which made it stay cool or so i thought but a few hours later it continued to do the same thing.

Specifications:
Motherboard: Crosshair V Formula-Z
CPU: AMD FX-8350
GPU: Gigabyte R9 270x
PSU: Corsair AX 860
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i Cooler
HDD: Western Digital 2TB Black
Optical Drive: Samsung 5.25" Optical Drive
Case: NZXT Phantom 820

Thanks for your help.

[Note: More details available on request. I am at my wits end with this issue]

Have you plugged in the 8Pin CPU power and 24 Pin ATX connector correctly and fully ?

Also, try a cheap keyboard and mouse (if you are using a gaming keyboard and mouse) because sometimes, BIOS doesn't like these.

What cooler are you using?

Also try turning system on without graphics card. ( I am guessing you have plugged in PCIe power correctly).

Do you have any other devices such as PCI cards, USB devices etc plugged in?

I'll try the 8-pin again. I somehow doubt the BIOS would have any issues with either my keyboard or my mouse. The cooler is a Corsair H100i. I can try without the GPU. I also do not usually have any other things plugged in apart from the keyboard and mouse.
