Hey, so I've got a new laptop which has 80gb SSD and HDD of 320gb.

I know 80gb isn't much and im planning to install heavy progs (adobe, solidworks), so how should i arrange my laptop?
OS on HDD and heavy sutff on SSD or OS on SSD and other stuff on HDD ?

furthermore: i've inserted the ssd to my laptop- came in a cdrom casing so i changed between the two. and when rebooting it states theres a boot error msg. thoughts ?

Solution
Ok.

Put OS + few essential programs on SSD.
ALL heavy programs and data on HDD. (move Windows libraries to HDD as well).

Format all drives and do a clean install of Windows onto the SSD.

so windows is better off on the SSD ?
how would i do that ? is it better to do a clean install though i read something about cloning the drive?
how much room would i have on the ssd after windows installed there ? i have a windows 7 professional .

Oh yes anyday Windows is better off on SSD. Thats mainly why people buy these low capacity SSDs!

I suggest copying all your data off, then inserting Windows 7 disk (or bootable usb) and do custom install. Then format all drives and do a clean install to your SSD.

After installing Win 7 professional, it will most likely take up about 30-40gb. To save space, move user libraries and folders to HDD.
