Right now I have a a8 6600k and I think the x4 860k is a bit faster but can someone explain what makes it faster? Also will either one bottle neck on bf4 with a r9 280 (ultra)
I meant to respond to your other thread and I forgot. Sorry mate. Work has kept be busy this week.
The reason I don't think you should upgrade is because there isn't enough performance increase to warrant an upgrade. They two CPUs that were suggested to you in the other thread really have similar performance. They are in the same tier.

That's fine, according to the tier it looks the the 6600k comes after the x4 does this mean its actually faster or does the the chart not show comparisons within tiers? Do you think I will be able to run bf4 on ultra 45+ fps or will I have to go down to medium.
Well, in BF4 multiplayer, you'll most likely have to turn down the settings for sustainable FPS. Again, it's a weaker CPU. Until you jump into a mainstream CPU, you'll see this pattern with most AAA games.
I wouldn't be so sure about the CPU performance tier being correctly organized. IDK...
Why don't you just grab the Radeon R9 now to see how it performs on your AMD A8? If you're dissatisfied you can upgrade the rest of the system later anyway.
Upgrades aren't very high investments. You can sell your old A8-6600 to make an extra cash (or maybe give it to me).
