Impossible to re-network 2 Windows 7 PC after Windows reinstall

I re-installed Windows 7 Home Edition 64 on a Bootcamp partition run by Parallels 9 on my MacBookPro after upgrading to the new Yosemite OS.

This laptop was correctly working on my home network, before this upgrade and re-install, comprising of two iMac and one Windows desktop running Windows 7 Home Edition 64.

Since this re-install, I am unable to reinstate the HomeGroup network on my laptop that worked before. When I go to HomeGroup, it tells me that there is no HomeGroup user (hence no "join" button, only "create"), when in fact my PC is running with the HomeGroup activated. I have of course selected the network discovery and no password buttons in the network advanced parameters window.

My desktop does not detect the laptop either, even though I put both PC on the same workgroup, and tried to select the network. But this is most probably where the problem lies because I am unable to understand how I can make sure they are on the same network. I checked the Windows IP config and could see that both were on different IPs hence networks, now the question is how do I change the Network of my laptop to reach my PC's?

Thank you for any help on this tricky matter.

Are you using DHCP to configure the network settings? Standard home networking should be 192.168.x.x (where the x = 0-255)....if one of your two do not have the IP address similar, networking isn't setup correctly (different subnets resulting in not seeing each other).

I found the Properties window you requested with the possibility to change the IP address, now which address should I input there given that I have a different one on my desktop where I dont find the standard settings you indicated above please?

Understood, but I still have no network, only an active connection to Internet.

On my Desktop when I click on map the network, I see the following:
Name of PC > Switch > Router > Internet

Furthermore the information regarding the Network are: Local Area Connection 2 Network 2

When I do the same on my laptop I see:
Name of PC > Bridge > Internet

As for the Network I only get Home Network

Is there an indication there that something is amiss?

Thanks for your kind assistance.
