So I recently thought about upgrading my cpu. I recently just bought a graphics card and a new heatsink. I brought the heatsink to the shop and they put it in and then I asked about ugprading to an i5 or an i7. He talked about upgrading my power supply. motherboard, and getting another hard drive? He said something about my ram and how I don't have enough slots for it or space.
Specs:
Intel i3-2100
GTX 750
600 Power Supply
ASROCK h61m-HVS
8gb Ram
Would a new motherboard help?

Solution
Balanced build is key. No reason to buy the top tier CPU if you have a low end GPU.

As rolli said, you don't need to upgrade the motherboard if you don't want to. Personally, I would say just get an i5 3350P or 3470. No reason to go any higher because of low returns.

Alright. If I'm upgrading to an i5 what I see a big impact in performance? I play games like WoW and mobas.

That looks good. I might as well go with that. Someone said that another hard drive would help?

In terms of performance? No. Think about it like this, does a bigger car trunk make the car go faster?

Do me a favor, if someone told you that in person, print out this thread, smack them and say "L2Computer".
