Need Helping Upgrading My Cpu

So I recently thought about upgrading my cpu. I recently just bought a graphics card and a new heatsink. I brought the heatsink to the shop and they put it in and then I asked about ugprading to an i5 or an i7. He talked about upgrading my power supply. motherboard, and getting another hard drive? He said something about my ram and how I don't have enough slots for it or space.

Intel i3-2100
GTX 750
600 Power Supply
ASROCK h61m-HVS
8gb Ram
Would a new motherboard help?

You will be fine with that board and upgrade to lga 1155 I5 or I7 none K version, no need to replace the board. Example http://pcpartpicker.com/part/intel-cpu-bx80637i53340

Yes a new motherboard will help significantly, mainly because you get a Z97 motherboard you can get a i7 4790K (the most powerful mainstream CPU on the market right now).

Not in those games but in anything that is CPU intensive + your computer will become better at multitasking.

Balanced build is key. No reason to buy the top tier CPU if you have a low end GPU.

As rolli said, you don't need to upgrade the motherboard if you don't want to. Personally, I would say just get an i5 3350P or 3470. No reason to go any higher because of low returns.
