Hi All....

I am fusterated.

I have an Asus rampage IV extreme, Running Win7 Pro, (Also Run Win8 Pro dedicated drive)
CPU I7 intel core 4820
G Skill Intl PC3-12800 32 gig memory
256 gig SSD.
CPU is Intel (Pic attached)
corsair cooling
Bios updated to latest.

What is happened is when I use AU suite II to overclock from 3.7 to 4.5..my system runs just dandy! No issues what so ever. I can reboot great. However....when I turn off my PC for the night and come back to it in the morning, It trys to boot and keeps resetting itself. I get no post and it does not even reach the windows logo. I have to power down, unplug the power for 10 secs then plug back in and hard reset the bios.

If I leave the bios to optimized, my 32 gigs of memory only shows 24 gig after windows boots. When I run AI suite again and overclock to 4.5, memory goes back to 32 gigs. I have reseated my memory, which tests all fine.

This even happens with Win8.

Suggestions plz...

Solution
since your BIOS is already up to date and your memory is in the compatibility list then the only culprit is the mobo, RMA it.

Don't use AI Suite II to overclock anything and never use automatic or "easy" features. You should perform all of this in the system setup through slow and careful adjustments. It took me about a week to find the sweetspot for my 3960x at 4.5Ghz with the same motherboard.

I've seen others with bios not keeping their settings.

I believe the two following suggestions might help you.

1. Change the battery seated on the motherboard, this is what power the bios chip when you're computer is off.

2. If you overclock using for instance ai suite. Do a re-boot, press the Delete-key when promted, this will bring you to the actual bios. Save your bios profile (8 available, +more with usb stick) While in the bios you will find it has the same settings which you find in ai suite, plus lots more. Search the web on how to best overclock your system. There are plenty of guides out there for this board and setup.
