3TB hard drive only allocated 2048GB and 746GB unallocated memory and cant fix

i have just built my pc and i have a 3TB toshiba hardrive, build went smooth and installation, now i have relaised in manage computer that 746GB of the momory is stuck, searched for hours and cant fix, Please help

i am running windows 7 and if you need any further information just ask.

What motherboard and what OS. Not all things support 3TB's.

MotherBoard is MSI 990fxa-gd65 and running windows 7, i also have a 120gb SSD which is performing fine

It needs to be formatted in GPT and the system should support UEFI. For hdds over 2 TB. If you want to use all of the hdd. And it should be 64 bit

Dont think you can or should do it if an OS is on it already. Otherwise it wont boot if you change it

You would have to change it to UEFI in the BIOS then reinstall windows. Altho Ive read that you may have to format on another system to GPT first.

type in system under search... select system information. Does it say UEFI beside BIOS mode?

Read the manual for the mobo or look in the BIOS. I dont know. I dont have the same mobo
