I have a question about a Raid 0 array in Windows 8.1. Can Intel's Rapid Storage Technology perform Trim on it's own? Or, does it need Windows Drive Optimizer to be enabled? Can I just disable the Windows Drive Optimizer and leave RST in place?

Solution
IRST can pass TRIM commands to a RAID 0 array if it is IRST version 11.0 or later and you have an Intel 7 series or newer chipset with either Windows 7 or 8. If you have those elements, you do not need a drive optimizer
