Hi.

Your Ram is sufficient. The speeds and latency is slightly below average DDR3 standards but it should be fine.

Just to clarify, what exactly are you trying to achieve with this upgrade? Improved FPS in games? Better loading times?
What CPU cooler do you use at the moment? the stock AMD one or have you changed it?

Finally, what is your total budget for this upgrade?

Hello,

Mostly I have been experiencing a lot of fps issues and loading times. I have sims 3 with all the expansions and it can take up to 4 and a half minutes to load the game. When playing other titles my fps can drop into the teens when the action gets heavy. I have experienced this with older titles rome total war and call of duty modern warfare. I am using the stock cooler as of now. I guess I was wanting some experienced suggestions regarding a card for $100-$150 to help me play modern titles. For some reason I was able to play rome 2 fine...but divinity original sin was basically unplayable. I don't know a lot about computers and your help is appreciated. I did have one more question. With my processor having an apu shouldn't my pci 16x slot be empty? Speccy has it listed as used for some reason. Thankyou for replying.

Loading times are typically dependant on how good your CPU and storage device is. You use a WD caviar blue drive which probably isn't the issue as that is a good performing drive.
I would suggest replacing the A10 with a newer CPU. I would suggest the FX 6300 (AMD) If you can afford it.
Then buy a new graphics card, I would suggest a GTX 750ti (Get an aftermarket version for a better cooler)
As for an SSD, the price/performance ratio is appalling. If you are on a budget you can spend your money in much more productive areas.

Thankyou barney you have been very helpful. I have never installed a 3.0 express video card before but I assume it should be plug and play. I will watch a installation video for the cpu, but the only thing I can think I would need to install it and the heatsink would be thermal paste and a screwdriver. Thanks again.
