Asus Extreme IV Black Edition or any viable alternatives?

Hey all,

This is going to be a long long post, but I want to explain my thoughts about my next gaming rig upgrade. This rig will primarily be used for gaming.

I am planning to get i7-4820k as my CPU, I know it's an old chip, but I am keen on getting a 40 PCI lane CPU, and from what I can see, i7-4820k seems to be my most viable option (5930k doesn't seem to be much of an improvement over 4820k, and 3930k is too expensive in comparison). I understand the chip is old-ish (about a year old at this stage), and the motherboards older still. But I want to go 40 PCI lanes is because I want to make sure that in the near future, my PCI slots will not be my GPU's bottleneck. As far as I understand, even x8 is still plenty, but, you can call me paranoid lol. I plan to SLI two graphics together (3 or more is not being considered due to PCI lane bottleneck).

I plan to have this upgrade for at least 3 years, preferably 5, which until then the only upgrade I would do is GPU's.

Now, I had been looking the available X79 motherboards, I saw P8X79 Deluxe and X79 Extreme IV Black edition, I am considering the black edition because it's a newer board and that it has 6 3.0 back panel USB ports (I am a huge sucker for USB ports, I can do with 6, but I'd prefer 8 if given the chance). Deluxe seems to have bandwidth issues with 4 of its ports IIRC though. However Black Edition does seem a little expensive just for the USB ports, but it DOES look quite durable as a board, so durability is also a plus for me.

So far I searched MSI and Gigabyte and their boards date back 2012 or early 2013, which I feel is too old if I want them to last for several years from now.

Lastly, I live in Taiwan, thus I have access to Asus, MSI and Gigabyte components, but almost nothing else.

Are there any other alternative boards out there I have missed?

Opinions about my upgrade plan is also welcome

Thanks in advance!

Solution
Black and Deluxe are both relative 'new' X79 mobos, think you'd be happy with either, if in the budget the black is a really sweet mobo, Ocs a little better and handles DRAM better. ;)
