can dd2 ram be used in dd3 slot

No. Not only are DDR2 and DDR3 electrically different, you can't physically fit one into the other as they're keyed differently. A board will only work with specifically the type of memory that it's rated for.

DDR2 cannot be used in DDR3 slots is that although they are both 240 pin, the size and position of the pins differ.It will not physically it into it, as DDR2 and DDR3 RAM Modules are "Keyed" Differently (to prevent installing the Wrong Type).
DDR2 and DDR3 are not only different in what they are, but they are electrically different, you can't use products that aren't designed to be electrically compatible with each other. Even if you did somehow force a DDR3 module into a DDR2 slot, you'd probably blow the RAM, and, well, the system board too. Their pin outs are different, they have to be.
It's like VLB versus PCI versus AGP versus PCI Express, they are totally different physically and electrically, square peg in a round hole.
