Hi All,

Purchased a new PC yesterday from a PC store and had them build it yesterday, everything ran great overnight, turned the power off today at the wall and It would not start. So everything was working.

Tried everything, got it to start (fans spinning in the PC) however no KB, mouse lights or display, took it back to the shop and they first thought it was PSU, then MB and then finally the G1 GTX970. They tested the card in another PC and it just beeped, however my PC did show the same issue using onboard one or twice,

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690
Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 evo
MB: Asrock H97 Performance
RAM: 16G Kit 1600 (8Gx2) G-Skill Ripjaws-X
Storage: Intel 730 - 240GB
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB – $92
GC: Gigabyte G1 GTX970
Case: Frantic Mid 2
PSU: Seasonic 550w
Optical: Samsung SH-224DB/RSBS

So they tested another PSU, new Mobo also tested with the GTX970 outside the case and it worked, so its intermittent.

Anyone shed any light? its at the shop now awaiting a new GTX970 next week, but they arent sure they can get the G1

Any chance this could be CPU, Ram, Case?

THanks all,

Just not sure what to do if they can't get the G1, not sure if I should go with a downgrade, or take PC and get another G1 myself.

Anyone confirm a G1 works on the asrock?

Well just spoke to the shop, and now im a little concerned.

They are testing my PC further, and put my original card, back in my PC and it worked, turned on and off 8 times with no issues.

He said when they tested my card in another PC yesterday when it failed, it may have been incompatible, and now they are wondering if my Asrock H97 Perf is incompatible with the G1.

So they are testing more now, so far,

Tested with another PSU – Same issues
Tested with another Asrock H97 Mobo – Same issues
Tested with HDD and without – Same issues
Tested with GTX780 – No issues seen

Well, I use ASrock mobo's myself, but what are ya' gonna' do, stomp your feet and whine that an apparently incompetent computer shop can't do a simple fix? Just make sure you have all the receipts and fill out the online warranties.

Im not to familiar with them at all :(

I wont be doing any OC on the chip and no OC on the GC, 4690, gtx970, ssd.

Will only probably add a video capture device later on, Will this mobo do the trick, and will the GC run at the same speeds as usual?

I feel confident that the Gigabyte mobo will be fine. I have a 3 yr old Gigabyte mobo I got with an Intel i5-2400 which had a factory recall on the mobo (because of the Intel chipset, not the board) and it's still running just fine today.

all cards work on all mobos.--- Its not an incompatibility issue

then why are folks needing to get bios updates if they can even get one for these cards to work??? with the uefi bios the manufacture now has control over what hardware you can use on there board not you anymore... its so bad now I don't even trust if a new 900 card would work out of the box for me t I seen 3 guys with x68 boards that cant get the cards to work at all but tested the cards and seen that there good
